McWilliams Realty became McWilliams & Tays Auction in 1977 with Jim & Heidi McWilliams partnering with a local auctioneer, Clarence Tays, to bring a high level of auction and real estate services to the Upper Cumberland area. While the company amicably split in the mid 1980s, McWilliams Realty & Auction continued through the next 30+ years with auctions and open market real estate sales.
Ted McWilliams received his Real Estate license in 1997 Auctioneer license in 1998 and moved into the Principal Auctioneer position in 2001. During the next 12 years, Ted managed the auctions (typically 20-30 per year), advertising and I.T. needs for the company until the family decided to close the business in 2013.
Ted then partnered with Tays Realty & Auction and was the Marketing and I.T. Director for their successful forays into the world of online auctions until April 2017. Beginning in May of 2017, McWilliams Auction and Realty, LLC opened with the goal of offering top level auction services with A Better Bottom Line For Our Clients.
